Pask Gimblett Gravels Syrah 2024
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Pask Gimblett Gravels Syrah brings a polished, savoury take on Hawke's Bay Syrah, with floral lift, a touch of red liquorice and supple tannins leading into a dry, lingering finish. Medium in weight rather than burly, it offers plenty of character without turning the volume up too far. The fruit comes from Pask's single estate vineyard on the warm, stony Gimblett Gravels, a site the producer has worked for four decades. A smart choice for roast lamb, venison or a deeply savoury mushroom ragù.
What the winery says:
Deep purple in colour, the 2024 vintage shows floral aromas with a touch of red liquorice. The palate is medium-weight, with supple tannins and a savoury finish. The wine is made from estate-grown Syrah sourced from Pask's single Gimblett Gravels vineyard, where heat-retaining river stones help the fruit achieve full flavour while retaining natural freshness.
What the experts say:
James Suckling, 92/100 (2023 Vintage)
"Fruity and floral, showing lots of dark cherries, violets and a lift of peppercorns on the nose. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and a flavorful finish. Sustainable. Drink or hold. Screw cap."
