Martinborough Wine

Martinborough sits in the Wairarapa, on New Zealand's North Island, and has built an outsized reputation for Pinot Noir despite being one of the country's smaller wine regions. Free-draining, stony soils and a dry, wind-sheltered climate produce wines with real concentration, often compared favourably to Central Otago's more powerful style. Beyond Pinot Noir, the region also turns out increasingly good Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris.
