Mirabeau X Provence Rosé is a pale, dry Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence rosé built around Grenache, with Syrah, Cinsault and white varieties adding lift and shape. The 2024 is all pear, yellow peach, nectarine and melon, with almond blossom and a subtle frangipane note, then a round palate sharpened by citrus freshness. Fruit comes from elevated sites north of Aix-en-Provence, where cooler nights help preserve acidity and tension. At under 1 g/L residual sugar it stays properly dry, but there is enough texture to keep it from feeling austere. Excellent as an aperitif, and equally at home with pan-fried salmon or a crisp Caesar salad.

What the winery says:

Mirabeau's 2024 technical sheet lists 44% Grenache, 23% Syrah, 11% Cinsault, 8% Grenache Blanc and a further 14% made up of Carignan, Rolle, Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon and Ugni Blanc. The vines sit at 300 to 400 metres on lime and sandstone soils with a south-facing exposure. Fruit was harvested at night, gently direct pressed, then fermented under temperature control in stainless steel, with inert gas used throughout to limit oxidation. The wine is 12.5% alcohol, has less than 1 g/L residual sugar, and is vegan friendly. Mirabeau describes the style as round, fresh and citrus-led, with peach and almond-flower aromatics.

What the experts say:

Decanter World Wine Awards, 95 Points and Value Gold (2024)
“An explosion of crunchy red fruit and sherbet aromatics which blissfully unfurl onto the precise, well-defined palate and simmer towards the pithy, grapefruit finish.”

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, 95/100 and 5 Stars (2024)
“Charming and finely scented, the bouquet presents notes of apricot, lemon pith, crisp apple, and oatmeal, leading to a focused palate that's juicy and linear. Wonderfully structured by saline texture and vibrant acidity, finishing long and elegant. At its best: now to 2027.”
