Wairau River Pinot Gris
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Wairau River Pinot Gris is grown on some of the oldest Pinot Gris vines in Marlborough, planted on the Home vineyard beside the Wairau River itself. Complex aromas of baked pear and quince lead into a delicate yet rich palate, textured and layered with caramelised stone fruit and wild honey, all carried by a backbone of refreshing, natural acidity. The age of the vines shows through in the wine's weight and length, while cool-climate Marlborough freshness keeps everything balanced. It's a Pinot Gris built for richness without heaviness - equally at home with roast pork, spiced Asian dishes, or simply poured on its own.
What the winery says:
We have some of the oldest Pinot Gris vines in the region, grown in our Home vineyard alongside the Wairau River - the first of our vineyards on the estate to be planted. Fruit from the Home Block and Hillocks vineyards is hand-picked, destemmed and gently pressed, then fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to preserve the wine's floral and fruit aromatics. Individual parcels rest on light lees for an extended period before blending, finishing and bottling on the estate.
