Village Vineyards Golden Queen Pinot Gris is aromatic, gently textured Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris with ripe nashi pear and juicy stone fruit joined by honeysuckle, baking spice and a creamy pastry note. A short period of skin contact adds subtle grip and shape, while bright acidity keeps the rounded palate fresh through the finish. The name celebrates the Golden Queen peaches once grown at the Evans family’s nearby Village Orchard, where Jenny Evans led the charge whenever the notoriously weather-sensitive fruit was ready to pick. Fragrant, generous and nicely composed, this is ready for pork belly, pan-fried fish, mild Asian dishes or soft-rind cheese.

Made from certified-organic Pinot Gris grown at Osawa Vineyard in Mangatahi, the juice receives a small amount of skin contact before pressing to draw out gentle tannin and additional texture. Nashi pear and ripe stone fruit meet honeysuckle, baking spice and creamy strudel, carried by vibrant acidity through a crisp, lingering finish. Medium-bodied and rounded without becoming heavy, it is designed to work equally well at the table or enjoyed lightly chilled on its own.
