Two Rivers Convergence Sauvignon Blanc brings a bright, energetic take on Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, combining fruit from Awatere Valley and Wairau Valley. Expect pineapple, lime and fresh green notes of capsicum, snow pea, mint and cucumber, carried by lively acidity, a subtle mineral feel and a clean saline finish. Winemaker David Clouston draws on three vineyard sites, with the cooler Awatere component making up most of the blend. A small amount of vessel work beyond stainless steel adds extra texture without losing the wine's freshness. Crisp enough for a sunny aperitif, it also has the concentration for tua tua, pan-fried sole or bright Pacific-inspired dishes.
What the winery says:
The 2025 is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from Valley East, Long Lane and Kora Bay, with 85% Awatere Valley and 15% Wairau Valley fruit grown on silt over alluvial gravels. Fruit was picked early in the morning, lightly pressed and fermented cool, predominantly in stainless steel. A small portion went through concrete egg, clay amphora and French oak cuve for texture and weight, followed by four months on light yeast lees. The winery notes fresh capsicum, snow pea, pineapple, mint, lime and cucumber, with a mineral mid-palate and saline finish. Alcohol is 13%, with 2 g/l residual sugar.
What the experts say:
