Two Rivers Clos des Pierres Chardonnay is a bright, finely textured Marlborough Chardonnay with plenty going on beneath the polish. Toasted almond, ripe citrus and a flicker of struck match lead into stone fruit, lemon curd, hazelnut and restrained oak, all carried by fresh acidity and a long, clean finish. Two Rivers founder and winemaker David Clouston brings deep Marlborough roots and extensive international vintage experience to the range. This is a smart choice for Chardonnay drinkers who enjoy richness without heaviness, and it has the freshness and savoury detail to sit beautifully alongside white fish, roast chicken or a firm, smoky cheese.

What the winery says:

The grapes were lightly pressed before natural fermentation, then matured for eight months in a combination of French oak barriques and cuves, with full malolactic fermentation. The finished wine is 13% alcohol, with less than 1 g/l residual sugar. Two Rivers describes aromas of toasted almonds, ripe citrus and sea spray, followed by a bright, focused palate of stone fruit, lemon curd, toasted oak and vanilla bean. The suggested drinking window is 2026 to 2032, with white fish and hard or smoked cheeses recommended at the table.

Cameron Douglas MS, 94 Points and Excellent (2024)
“I love the bouquet with its distinctiveness of style, ripeness, mix of citrus and flinty mineral qualities, then white fleshed fruits.”

Candice Chow, CandiceWineChat.com, 94 Points and 5 Stars (2024)

Sammy Wilkinson, The Wine Writer, 93 Points and 5 Stars (2024)
“Long, taut and stony mineral on the finish. Golden hour, dialled up.”
