Sheild Sauvignon Blanc 2024
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml | $4.99 Delivery
SHEiLD Sauvignon Blanc is a bright, concentrated Nelson Sauvignon Blanc with tropical fruit, citrus and a distinctive mineral edge. Fruit from the Waimea Plains gives it plenty of aromatic intensity, while crisp acidity, subtle phenolic texture and a small lees-aged component provide more shape than a straightforward fruit-driven style. Passionfruit, pineapple and grapefruit lead the way, with a dry, mouth-watering finish that keeps it refreshing and highly drinkable. Serve well chilled with fresh seafood, goat's cheese, herb-led salads or lighter dishes finished with citrus and garlic.
What the winery says:
Star-bright and pale lemon-green in colour, the wine shows pronounced aromas of passionfruit, citrus and pineapple. The medium-bodied palate is dense with fruit, layered with mineral nuances and carried through a long, clean and dry finish. The Sauvignon Blanc came from the Appleby, Clover Road and Twin Rivers vineyards on Nelson's Waimea Plains, where vines grow in flat alluvial soils of gravel beneath silt loam. Separate parcels were harvested in the cool of the morning, gently pressed and cold settled before slow, cool fermentation with selected Sauvignon yeasts. A small portion received lees stirring to add texture and mouthfeel before the final blend was assembled.
