Seresin Beautiful Chaos Syrah is a Marlborough Syrah with a wonderfully vivid, cool-climate feel, pairing ripe plum and berry fruit with black pepper, floral lift and finely polished tannins. The 2025 has plenty of concentration without becoming heavy, helped by bright acidity and a long, energetic finish. Organically certified and biodynamically grown, it is made with a deliberately hands-off approach that lets the fruit do the talking. A smart pick for anyone who likes fragrant, savoury Syrah rather than sheer muscle, and a natural partner for peppered lamb, grilled mushrooms or an autumn dinner with friends.
What the winery says:
The Syrah was hand-picked in April as the final fruit of Seresin's 2025 harvest. Natural fermentation took place with gentle plunging, followed by 28 days on skins. After pressing, the wine spent five months in clay amphorae and neutral barriques, completing malolactic fermentation naturally. It was then blended and clarified in stainless steel before being bottled without stabilisation, fining, filtration or added sulphur. The winery describes a lifted bouquet of plum, berry fruit, spice and black pepper, with vibrant fruit, powdery tannins and fresh acidity carrying the palate to a long finish. It is certified organic, biodynamically grown, vegan and vegetarian suitable.
