Pencarrow Sauvignon Blanc is a bright, expressive Martinborough take on New Zealand's favourite white. Fragrant passionfruit and pink grapefruit lead the way, backed by crisp apple, orange blossom and a subtle herbal lift. On the palate it's dry, juicy and refreshingly lively, with a little extra texture that balances the zesty acidity and carries through to a long, mouthwatering finish. Made by Palliser Estate from fruit grown in its Martinborough vineyards, it offers generous Sauvignon Blanc character without feeling overly sharp. Pour it with sashimi, pan-fried snapper or green-lipped mussels, or enjoy well chilled as a sunny afternoon aperitif.

What the winery says:

Crafted by winemaker Guy McMaster, the 2025 vintage draws 95% of its fruit from Palliser Estate's Woolshed Vineyard, with the balance from Pencarrow Vineyard. The grapes are gently crushed, cold settled and fermented in stainless steel tanks, before spending a further three months on lees to build texture and depth. The result is a vibrant, fruit-forward Sauvignon Blanc with a dry, refreshing finish. Vegan friendly and best enjoyed through 2028.

What the experts say:

Cameron Douglas MS, 91/100 (2025)
“Crisp, salivating and varietal with persistent flavours of pomaceous and citrus fruits”

James Suckling, 90/100 (2025)
"This is a dense and fruit-driven sauvignon blanc with limes and gooseberries on the nose, following through to a medium body with zesty acidity. Fresh, with a mouthwatering finish. Sustainable. Drink now. Screw cap."
