Paddy Borthwick Pinot Rosé brings a generous, fruit-packed take on rosé from Gladstone in the Wairarapa. Raspberry and cherry lead the way, joined by watermelon, candied apple and a gently tart blackberry finish. There is good weight through the palate, but plenty of freshness keeps everything lively rather than heavy. Made entirely from Pinot Noir sourced from two vineyards, it has enough texture and flavour to move comfortably beyond aperitif duty. Try it with grilled salmon, charcuterie or a long summer lunch. A smart choice for anyone who likes their rosé fresh and refreshing, but with a bit more substance in the glass.

What the winery says:

The 2025 growing season brought an early budburst followed by a long, dry summer and an earlier than usual harvest, allowing the fruit to reach full ripeness in good condition. Several Pinot Noir clones from two vineyards were selected to build layers of flavour. Two juice-making techniques were used: one portion was crushed and pressed, while another was drawn from Pinot Noir vats after a few hours of skin contact. The juices were then settled and fermented in stainless steel. The finished wine shows raspberry, cherry, candied apple and watermelon aromas, with good palate weight, fresh raspberry flavour and a tart blackberry finish.
