Obliix Pinot Noir 2024
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml | $4.99 Delivery
Obliix Pinot Noir is a bright, approachable Marlborough Pinot Noir with ripe cherry, dark chocolate and savoury spice at its core. Grown at a high-elevation vineyard in the Awatere Valley, it balances generous fruit with fresh acidity, silky texture and fine tannins rather than excessive weight. A modest portion matured in seasoned French oak adds gentle complexity while keeping the wine’s vibrant fruit firmly in focus. Smooth and easy to enjoy in its youth, it is a versatile match for roast chicken, grilled salmon, mushroom dishes, lamb or a relaxed midweek dinner.
What the winery says:
Aromas of spice, dark chocolate, cherry and dried herbs lead into a bright, fresh palate with a silky mouthfeel and lingering length. The wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir grown at the Ballochdale Vineyard in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley, approximately 25 kilometres inland and 300 metres above sea level. Low yields and warm, dry conditions during the 2024 season allowed the fruit to develop concentrated flavour and full ripeness. The grapes were machine harvested and fermented in open stainless steel fermenters, with hand plunging and pump overs used for extraction. After fermentation, 25% of the wine was transferred to third-year French oak barriques. It is dry, unfined and suitable for a plant-based diet.
What the experts say:
David Walker Bell, WineFolio, 90/100 (2023 Vintage)
"A vibrant burgundy-ruby colour in the glass, with heady and varietally-specific scents (that could only be Pinot Noir) on the nose."
