Obliix Chardonnay 2024
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Obliix Chardonnay is a rich, polished Hawke's Bay Chardonnay with ripe stone fruit, creamy texture and enough vibrant acidity to keep the palate fresh and lively. White peach and nectarine sit alongside brioche, gentle nuttiness and a touch of warm spice, giving the wine generous flavour without becoming overly heavy. Fermentation across both barrel and stainless steel balances depth with fruit purity, while malolactic fermentation softens the edges. Smooth, approachable and made for broad appeal, it is a natural match for roast chicken, pan-seared fish, creamy seafood dishes or mushroom risotto.
What the winery says:
Complex aromas of ripe nectarine and white peach are joined by hints of brioche and nuttiness. The dry, medium-bodied palate has a smooth, creamy mouthfeel, vibrant acidity and gentle spice through the finish. Fruit was sourced from the Rivermere, Čuvar Lower Terrace, Kokako and Te Hau vineyards in Hawke's Bay, with both hand and machine harvesting used. The grapes were gently pressed, then fermented with a combination of natural and inoculated yeasts. Half of the wine was fermented in barrel, including 10% new barriques, while the balance fermented in stainless steel. One month of lees stirring followed fermentation, with natural malolactic fermentation occurring through spring. The wine was bottled in March 2025.
