Nevis Bluff Single Vineyard Chardonnay is a polished Central Otago Chardonnay with bright nectarine, apple and citrus fruit layered over roasted cashew, subtle vanilla and smoky flint. The fruit comes from Nevis Bluff's L'Attitude Vineyard in the Pisa sub-region, giving this a focused, mineral-edged style with enough creamy texture and oak complexity to keep things interesting. Barrel fermentation adds weight without swamping the freshness, while zesty acidity keeps the finish long and lively. A smart choice for Chardonnay drinkers who like richness with restraint, and particularly good alongside roast chicken, pork or richer seafood dishes.

What the winery says:

The 2024 is made from Chardonnay grown in the Pisa sub-region of Central Otago. Clone 95 fruit was hand-selected and whole-bunch pressed into French oak barrels for fermentation, with approximately 10% new oak and malolactic fermentation. The resulting wine is medium-full bodied, combining nectarine, apple and citrus peel with roasted cashew, spice, vanilla and smoky flint. Bright acidity provides freshness and definition, while barrel fermentation brings nutty complexity, texture and a long finish. The wine is 13.5% alcohol and is vegan friendly.

What the experts say:

Cameron Douglas MS, 94 Points and Excellent (2024)
“Dry and nicely weighty on the palate with flavours of grapefruit and peach, stone and earth with apple, lees and citrus pith.”

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, 94 Points and 5 Stars (2024)
“Restrained with elegant complexity, the wine shows white flesh peach, nougat, oatmeal, and roasted cashew nuances on the nose.”

Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, 93 Points (2024)
“The fruit is bright, supported by enlivening, zesty acidity. Barrel fermentation enriched the flavour profile, layering subtle nutty and flinty details.”
