Mount Edward Rose 2023
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml | $4.99 Delivery
Mount Edward Rosé is a dry, savoury Central Otago rosé made from organically grown Pinot Noir at Mount Edward's Muirkirk Vineyard on Felton Road in Bannockburn. Light copper in colour, it offers strawberry, rose petal and summer fruit flavours with bright acidity and a gently textured finish. This is a more composed, food-friendly style rather than a soft or sweet rosé, with enough freshness for warm afternoons and enough savoury character to enjoy throughout the year. Serve chilled with salmon, charcuterie, grilled prawns, Mediterranean dishes or a relaxed outdoor lunch.
What the winery says:
The certified organic Pinot Noir fruit came from the Muirkirk Vineyard on Felton Road in Bannockburn. The grapes were whole bunch pressed slowly over five hours to retain a delicate amount of colour, then fermented in stainless steel at ambient temperatures using wild yeasts. The finished wine is light copper in appearance, with aromas of strawberries and rose petals followed by summer fruit and floral flavours. It is lighter bodied, dry and refreshing, with an understated, old-school style.
What the experts say:
Cameron Douglas MS, 93/100, Excellent (2023 Vintage)
"A taut, crisp and dry wine touches the palate first, flavours of raspberry and peach, red apple and citrus follow."
