Mount Edward Pinot Noir is a polished, savoury take on Central Otago Pinot Noir, the 2023 brings dark cherry and berry fruit together with spice, dried herbs and a gentle earthy edge. The palate is supple and finely textured, balancing generous fruit with fresh acidity and a long, composed finish. Mount Edward has been part of the Central Otago story since 1997 and farms its estate vineyards organically, with this flagship Pinot drawing together sites in Pisa and Bannockburn. It is expressive without being overblown, making it an excellent partner for roast duck, lamb or mushroom dishes, and equally convincing on its own.

What the winery says:

The 2023 is a certified organic Pinot Noir blended from four Mount Edward estate vineyards in Pisa and Bannockburn. The winery describes it as an expression of its house style, combining soft, supple texture with the vibrancy of Central Otago fruit. Aromatically it moves through darker berry fruit, spice, savoury notes and dried herbs, while the palate has good concentration balanced by elegance and freshness. Mount Edward makes its wines with a focus on natural vineyard yeasts, minimal additions and restrained sulphur use, aiming for texture, vitality and personality.
