Mont'Albano Primitivo Puglia DOCG
Made entirely from Primitivo, the same grape more commonly known as Zinfandel, this organic red from Puglia in southern Italy shows a deep, dark colour flecked with violet. The bouquet is warm and characterful, built around notes of white pepper and leather layered over ripe red fruit, and the palate follows through generously, full bodied and well rounded with a harmonious, easy going finish. It is a robust style suited to grilled meats, rich pasta dishes or simply enjoying on its own on a cooler evening. Certified organic and produced under the same principles as the rest of the Mont'Albano range, it offers plenty of warmth and depth at 13% ABV.

What the winery says: Mont'Albano has farmed organically in northern Italy since the mid 1980s, and applies the same exacting standards to the trusted growers it partners with further south in Puglia, where this Primitivo is grown. Grapes are vinified in certified organic facilities under Mont'Albano's guidance, keeping the wine true to its variety and place. The colour is a deep, dark red with hints of violet, and the aromas are intense and characterful, built on white pepper and leather over a core of ripe red fruit. On the palate it is full bodied, well rounded and harmonious, a satisfying and generous style of Primitivo. As with the rest of the range, the wine is bottled in lighter glass with recycled, environmentally friendly packaging.
