Leveret Estate Hawkes Bay Viognier 2026
Leveret Estate Hawke's Bay Viognier is a beautifully fragrant, full-bodied Viognier from Hawke's Bay, bursting with ripe apricot, white peach, honeysuckle and a lovely hint of lychee. The palate is rich and silky, with juicy nectarine, tangerine and gentle floral spice adding layers of flavour. There's a gorgeous creamy texture here, balanced by fresh acidity that keeps everything lively, leading to a long, dry finish. Generous and aromatic without feeling heavy, this is a wonderfully expressive Viognier with plenty of personality. A fantastic match for roast chicken, creamy seafood dishes or fragrant Asian cuisine, particularly anything with ginger, coconut or a little spice.
What the winery says:
The 2026 Hawke's Bay growing season began with warm, dry conditions during spring flowering, naturally moderating crop levels. After an unsettled start to summer, a prolonged period of hot, dry weather continued through autumn, allowing the grapes to develop ripe flavours while retaining freshness and acidity. Harvested on 24 March 2026, the resulting wine offers vibrant floral, apricot, honeysuckle and lychee aromas, with a satin-textured palate of white nectarine, tangerine and mild spice. The winery recommends pairing it with roast chicken or turkey and pumpkin mash.
What the experts say:
Cameron Douglas MS, 93/100 (2026 Vintage)
“Aromatic and enticing bouquet of white flowers and apricots, white peach, red apples and spices from fruit and lees contact. Delicious, weighty and dry on the finish with a lovely satin-cream mouthfeel and medium+ lengthy finish. A well made wine with plenty of appeal and style, flavours of fresh white fleshed fruits, citrus and floral spice mix. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2031+”
