Les Jamelles Clair de Rose is pale, fresh and very easy to like; a southern French rosé that blends Grenache and Cinsault for a lively mix of raspberry, grenadine and delicate floral notes. The palate is dry and vibrant but carries enough roundness and juicy fruit to keep things generous rather than austere. Fruit is drawn from several Pays d'Oc terroirs, bringing together Mediterranean warmth with freshness from vineyards around the Thau lagoon. A smart choice when you want crisp, uncomplicated rosé with a little extra polish. Serve well chilled with summer salads, grilled seafood, pizza, or prawns with ginger and coconut milk.
What the winery says:
The 2024 Clair de Rose is a 50% Cinsault and 50% Grenache blend from Pays d'Oc. Fruit comes from mid-slope vineyards in the Hérault Valley, sandy alluvial soils around the Thau lagoon and calcareous clay soils near Narbonne. The grapes are pressed immediately after harvest, with the must clarified before low-temperature fermentation at 15°C. Malolactic fermentation is avoided to preserve freshness. The finished wine is pale pink, fresh, lively and round, with floral notes and flavours of raspberry and grenadine. Les Jamelles recommends serving it well chilled at 8°C.
What the experts say:
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, 93/100 and 5 Stars (2024)
“It’s delicately lifted on the nose, showing cranberry, apricot, and red apple notes, followed by a finely flowing palate that's juicy and vibrant. Splendidly composed and expressed with a long, mouth-watering finish. At its best: now to 2027.”
Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge, Gold Medal (2024)
“Very pale pink hue. Nose of fresh red fruits, notably strawberry. Palate marked by generosity, with broad yet well-defined fruit. A fine match for delicate white meats.”
