Hunter's Riesling is a beautifully fresh and aromatic Marlborough Riesling from one of New Zealand's pioneering family-owned wineries. The 2025 vintage is packed with lively grapefruit, lemon, lime and crisp apple flavours, complemented by delicate white florals and a subtle mineral edge. Bright, mouth-watering acidity gives the wine a lovely sense of energy, while its pure fruit character and fine texture keep everything beautifully balanced. Refreshing, elegant and wonderfully approachable, it's a Riesling that drinks brilliantly now but has the structure to develop further with age. An excellent match for fresh seafood, Thai cuisine, fragrant Asian dishes or simply enjoying chilled on a warm afternoon.

What the winery says:

The 2025 Riesling was produced from fruit grown in Marlborough's Rapaura and Southern Valleys, areas known for their distinctive soils and excellent growing conditions. The grapes were machine harvested and gently pressed, with only the free-run juice selected for fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The growing season began with warm conditions and good fruit set, followed by cooler temperatures in January before a warmer, drier autumn helped the grapes reach optimal ripeness. The resulting wine shows ripe citrus and grapefruit aromas with floral notes, a focused palate, fine texture and refreshing acidity. A lingering mineral finish adds complexity, making it enjoyable now with excellent potential for cellaring.

What the experts say:

Cameron Douglas MS, 93/100 (2025)
“A delicious wine, first with a bouquet of white rose and blossoms, apple and pear, red apple and a wet stone mineral quality. A whisper of spice adds breadth, complexity and enticement. Secondly, this is a dry wine touches the palate with a ripe core of lemon and yellow lime, some pineapple and apple flavours. High acidity, ripe, fresh and delicious. A young wine that needs time to finish settling. Best drinking from late 2026 through  2031+.”
