Hunter's Chardonnay is a beautifully balanced Marlborough Chardonnay from one of New Zealand's pioneering family-owned wineries. The 2025 vintage brings together vibrant stone fruit and citrus flavours, with ripe white peach, grapefruit and subtle toasted hazelnut notes. There's a lovely flinty character running through the wine, complemented by well-integrated French oak and a silky, creamy texture. Rich enough to satisfy Chardonnay lovers who enjoy a little oak influence, yet fresh and finely structured, it strikes an excellent balance between generosity and elegance. Enjoy it alongside roast chicken, creamy pasta, grilled fish or seafood dishes, or simply savour a glass on its own.

What the winery says:

The 2025 Chardonnay was produced from hand-picked fruit grown in Marlborough's Rapaura and Omaka sub-regions, sourced from vineyards Hunter's has worked with for many years. The grapes were pressed without added sulphur, before the cloudy juice was transferred to 500-litre French oak puncheons for fermentation using indigenous yeasts. Around 80% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, contributing richness and a rounded mouthfeel. It was then matured on its yeast lees in oak for 12 months before bottling in May 2026. The resulting wine combines vibrant stone fruit and citrus flavours with subtle toastiness, fine texture and a lingering finish. Certified vegan by the New Zealand Vegetarian Society.
