Henkell Vintage Sparkling
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml | $4.99 Delivery
Henkell Vintage Sparkling brings polished Loire Valley fizz to the table, with ripe peach at the centre and savoury hints of hazelnut and brioche adding depth. This brut Crémant de Loire has a fine bead, a juicy, full-bodied palate and a long, elegant finish. Made by the traditional method and aged in cool limestone cellars, it offers plenty of character while staying wonderfully easy to enjoy. Serve it well chilled with oysters, smoked salmon, crisp canapés or a plate of gougères, or simply open it when the occasion needs a little lift.
What the winery says:
The wine is made in France's Loire Valley from hand-harvested grapes. The cuvée is 60% Chenin Blanc, 20% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Noir and 5% Cabernet Franc. After a temperature-controlled first fermentation in stainless steel and a short period on lees, the second fermentation takes place in bottle. It then ages for around three years in naturally cool cellars. Henkell describes a light golden colour, delicate bubbles and aromas of ripe peach, hazelnut and brioche, followed by a juicy, full-bodied palate and persistent finish. The wine also pays tribute to founder Adam Henkell's French sparkling wine roots.
