The fruit comes from Hacienda El Ternero's own high-altitude vineyards, while French oak adds seasoning without drowning out the wine's lively character. The estate itself has roots stretching back to 1077, giving this thoroughly approachable Crianza a rather impressive family tree. The 2018 Torno Crianza is 100% Tempranillo from estate vineyards surrounding the winery in Rioja Alta. The vines sit at around 600 metres above sea level and average 30 years of age. The wine is matured for at least 12 months in French oak. Hacienda El Ternero describes a violet-toned colour, aromas of violets and white flowers over vanilla, with cherry notes emerging as the wine opens. The palate is fresh and soft, finishing with a lingering caramel-like note.
