Giesen Uncharted Chardonnay
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml | $4.99 Delivery
Giesen Uncharted Chardonnay A richly textured Marlborough Chardonnay with plenty of freshness in reserve. White peach, ripe lemon and grapefruit lead the way, joined by toasted hazelnut, subtle flint and a gentle creamy note from oak maturation. Fruit comes from selected sites across the Wairau and Southern Valleys, giving the wine a satisfying mix of concentration, citrus drive and cool-climate brightness. It is generous without becoming heavy, making it a smart choice for Chardonnay drinkers who enjoy flavour with a crisp edge. Particularly good alongside fresh clams, grilled fish or simply prepared seafood.
What the winery says:
The Uncharted Chardonnay is sourced from vineyard sites in Marlborough's Wairau and Southern Valleys, with heavier soils selected to contribute texture and subtle flinty character. Fruit was pressed on arrival at the winery, settled overnight, then fermented before spending nine months in French oak. A mix of coopers and toast levels was chosen to add complexity without overwhelming the fruit. The finished wine shows white peach, lemon, toasted hazelnut and flint, with ripe citrus and peach through the palate and grapefruit freshness on the finish. It has 13.2% alcohol and 1.7 g/L residual sugar.
