AWARDS & ACCOLADES

92/100 Cameron Douglas (2024)
92/100 Sammy Wilkinson (2024)

Elephant Hill Pinot Noir is a youthful, structured Central Otago Pinot Noir with dark cherry, black plum and raspberry fruit, lifted violet notes and a savoury layer of dried herbs, earth and spice. Medium-bodied and dry, it carries plenty of fruit through the palate, backed by fresh acidity and firm, fine-grained tannins that give it useful shape and ageing potential. Elephant Hill itself was established at Te Awanga in Hawke's Bay in 2003, making this southern Pinot an interesting departure from its home turf. Delicious with roast duck, lamb or mushroom risotto, and well worth a little time in the cellar.

What the experts say:

Cameron Douglas MS, 92 Points, Premium (2024)
"Aromas of dark cherry and Doris plums, black currant leaf and a light nettles dried herb suggestion."

Sammy Wilkinson, The Wine Writer, 92 Points, 4 ½ Stars (2024)
"Purple flashes in the glass, with defined aromas of dark cherry, black plum, and raspberry, lifted by a violet floral note."
