Elena Walch Pinot Bianco Alto Adige 2025
Elena Walch Pinot Bianco Alto Adige brings a crisp, polished take on Pinot Bianco from the mountain vineyards of Alto Adige, Italy. Fresh apple and delicate herbal notes lead into an elegant, mineral palate with lively acidity and a clean, persistent finish. Fruit from steep vineyards spanning warmer mid-altitude sites and cooler elevations up to 900 metres helps give the wine both freshness and depth. Fermentation and ageing in stainless steel keep the focus firmly on purity and brightness. It is a versatile choice for aperitif duty, light starters, pasta, white meats or poultry, and a particularly smart pick for drinkers who enjoy precise, refreshing Italian whites.
What the winery says:
The 2025 is made from 100% Pinot Bianco, handpicked from steep vineyards on light limestone and porphyry soils at elevations ranging from around 250 to 900 metres. After gentle pressing and static clarification, the must is fermented in stainless steel at a controlled 20°C, then matured for several months on fine lees in stainless steel. The winery describes bright straw colour, fresh apple and subtle herbal aromas, with elegant mineral depth, lively acidity and a fresh finish. Residual sugar is 2.3 g/L, alcohol is 13%, and the suggested ageing window is three to five years.
What the experts say:
James Suckling, 92 Points (2025 Vintage)
“This smells as inviting as a spring meadow, but also has some nice white-fruit aromas, then it turns quite cool and sleek.”
