Domaine Rewa Central Otago Pinot Noir is a poised, savoury Pinot Noir from a small, organically farmed vineyard beneath the Pisa Range. Fresh cherry, plum, blackberry and cranberry are layered with dried herbs, violet, baking spice and stony earth, while fine, silky tannins and lively acidity give the palate shape and energy. There is good concentration without excessive weight, finishing long with lingering fruit, spice and mineral detail. Made for drinkers who enjoy Central Otago Pinot Noir with freshness as well as depth, it can be enjoyed now or cellared further. Serve it with roast duck, venison backstrap, lamb shoulder or a mushroom and thyme tart.

What the winery says:

The wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir grown at Domaine Rewa's single vineyard on the Pisa Flats in Central Otago's Cromwell Basin. The 5.5-hectare property sits on low-fertility glacial gravels, sands and silts and is certified organic, with biodynamic principles thoughtfully incorporated into its management. The 2022 release contains 13.5% alcohol and shows dark cherry, plum and berry fruit alongside dried herbs, spice and savoury mineral notes. The palate is structured by fine tannins and fresh acidity, with the concentration and balance to develop further in bottle.

James Suckling, 93/100 (2022 Vintage)
