DeMorgenzon DMZ Chenin Blanc is bright, generous and nicely focused; a Stellenbosch Chenin Blanc that brings together ripe apple, apricot and lemon with floral notes, subtle tropical fruit and a lightly savoury mineral edge. There is enough texture to give the wine some breadth, while fresh acidity keeps everything lively and mouth-watering. The fruit comes from DeMorgenzon's own vineyards on granitic soils, with slopes overlooking False Bay helping retain freshness. A smart choice for anyone wanting a white with more shape than Sauvignon Blanc without losing its zip. Try it with roast chicken, creamy seafood dishes, dumplings or a gently spiced curry.

What the winery says:

The 2024 is made from Chenin Blanc grown exclusively in DeMorgenzon's estate vineyards, including southerly and south-easterly slopes overlooking False Bay. The granitic soils and gentle morning sun help preserve natural acidity and flavour concentration. The wine shows stone fruit, citrus, green apple and hints of tropical fruit, with apricot, ripe lemon and apple carrying onto the palate alongside structure, minerality and a subtly integrated oak influence.

What the experts say:

Cameron Douglas MS, 93 Points, Excellent (2024 Vintage)
“This has always been a fascinating and fun wine to taste and enjoy. Aromas and flavours of fresh and roasted apple, white flowers and packed with mineral-clay and fruit spice. There’s a delicate sea-spray like quality that comes through on the palate as as a salinity, then flavours that reflect the bouquet. Apples and white fleshed fruits, clay and mineral then spice. A delicious wine ready to drink from day of purchase through 2030+.”
