d'Arenberg The Money Spider Roussanne is a rich, textural McLaren Vale white with the weight of Chardonnay and the exotic personality of Viognier. Honeydew, rockmelon and yellow peach meet preserved lemon and macadamia, with concentrated fruit and gentle nuttiness carried by focused acidity through a long, creamy finish. The name dates back to d'Arenberg’s first Roussanne crop, when tiny Money Spiders covered the vines and were spared because folklore says treating them kindly brings good luck. Distinctive without becoming difficult, this is excellent with seafood, roast chicken, creamy dishes or a fragrant Thai curry.

Made entirely from McLaren Vale Roussanne, the grapes are gently crushed before being transferred to stainless-steel basket presses. A long, moderately cool fermentation takes place in stainless steel to retain fresh fruit character, with only free-run juice selected and no malolactic fermentation. Honeydew, rockmelon, preserved lemon and macadamia lead into a concentrated palate of melon and yellow peach, with creamy texture, focused acidity and a dense but beautifully balanced finish.
