Coney describes the 2022 Piccolo as opulent, with a rich texture enhanced by bottle age. The fruit was deliberately harvested late, allowing a small amount of shrivel and botrytis to develop. Spicy notes sit alongside apple, pear and stone fruit flavours, while 3.6 g/L of residual sugar keeps the finish dry. The winery says the wine can continue to develop with further cellaring.
