Chapoutier Cotes du Rhone Belleruche Rouge is a generous Rhône red built around Grenache and Syrah, bringing together ripe blackcurrant, raspberry and red fruit with white pepper and gently roasted notes. It is juicy and full-bodied, while silky, delicate tannins keep everything approachable rather than heavy. Belleruche means "beautiful beehive", an apt name for a lively wine with plenty of easy appeal. Serve it with lamb chops, slow-cooked lamb ragù, grilled meats or a well-loaded pizza.

What the winery says:

The 2024 Belleruche comes from varied Côtes-du-Rhône soils, including pebbly clay, stony terraces and silty-sand sites. The grapes are picked at phenolic ripeness and completely destemmed before spending three to four weeks fermenting in concrete and stainless-steel tanks, with daily pumping over for gentle extraction. The wine is then matured for six months in concrete and stainless steel. Deep garnet in colour, it shows blackcurrant, raspberry and white pepper, followed by juicy red fruit, roasted notes and silky tannins. Chapoutier suggests serving it at 16 to 18°C and drinking it over three to five years.
