Stoneleigh
Stoneleigh traces its roots to 1980, when the first vines were planted in the stony soils of Rapaura, on the northern side of Marlborough's Wairau Valley, an area now known locally as the Golden Mile for the quality of its vineyards. The Stoneleigh range itself launched in 1986, and the estate's 178 hectares sit within two kilometres of the Wairau River, close enough to the Richmond Ranges to draw cool, clear mountain air across the vines through the growing season.
It is home to some of the oldest grafted Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc blocks in Marlborough, and the abundant stones that give the vineyard its name reflect daytime heat back onto the fruit, aiding ripening even as temperatures drop overnight. The Latitude range channels that heritage into a crisp Sauvignon Blanc, a fine Pinot Noir, an aromatic Pinot Gris and a rounded Chardonnay.
