Angove Organic Merlot 2024
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Angove Organic Merlot is a bright, fruit-forward South Australian red, layering ripe raspberry and plum over darker red fruit and a subtle thread of oak. The 2024 comes from Angove's certified organic Nanya Vineyard near Paringa, delivering an easy-going Merlot with enough depth for the dinner table and plenty of uncomplicated charm for a relaxed glass. Angove is a fifth-generation family producer with roots stretching back to 1886, so this is everyday organic wine backed by serious experience. Try it with pot roast, vegetarian lasagne, or a cosy midweek meal.
What the winery says:
The fruit was grown at Angove's Nanya Organic Vineyard near Paringa in South Australia's Riverland, where shallow red sandy loam lies over limestone above the Murray River. Lower-than-average yields in 2024 helped produce concentrated flavours. The grapes were harvested at night, macerated for two days before fermentation and pressed after seven days, followed by malolactic fermentation and minimal handling before bottling. Dark ruby in colour, it shows ripe raspberry and plum aromas, dark red fruit and subtle oak, with cellaring potential of 3-5 years. Certified organic, vegan friendly and made with minimal preservatives.
