Folium Rose comes from one of Marlborough's smallest producers - a six-hectare, dry-farmed and organically managed vineyard in the Brancott Valley run by Japanese-trained winemaker Takaki Okada. It's a direct-press rose built mainly from Pinot Noir with a touch of Malbec for texture, made in a crisp, bone-dry style rather than anything sweet or heavy. Okada's whole approach favours minimal intervention and letting the dry-farmed, low-yielding vines do the talking, so expect a rose with genuine site character rather than a mass-market pink.
