Valdepalacios
Valdepalacios is made by Bodegas y Vinedos Leza Garcia, a family winery in the Najerilla Valley at the heart of Rioja Alta, established when Juan Leza Arenzana began making wine in the early twentieth century. His son Angel Leza carried the craft forward, and the estate is now managed by a third generation, with a fourth already stepping into the business, farming 140 hectares of vineyards at altitudes between 500 and 700 metres.
The wine is a pure expression of Tempranillo, grown entirely on the family's own Spanish estate land and aged for twelve months in a mix of American and French oak barrels before a further six months resting in bottle. The result is a deep, ruby-coloured red with aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant and dark chocolate, built on generations of Rioja winemaking experience.
