Main Divide Gewurztraminer 2025
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Main Divide Gewürztraminer Brimming with lychee, orange blossom, rose oil and warming spice, this aromatic North Canterbury white delivers plenty of Gewürztraminer character without becoming heavy or cloying. A touch of residual sweetness rounds out the palate, while lively acidity keeps the finish fresh, focused and impressively drinkable. Produced by the Donaldson family behind Pegasus Bay, it offers a generous taste of Waipara at a very approachable price. Pour it alongside fragrant Thai curries, ginger-spiced pork or mildly fiery Sichuan dishes, where its perfume, texture and gentle sweetness can really earn their keep.
What the winery says:
The fruit was harvested on 26 March and 10 April 2025. After crushing, the grapes received a short period of skin contact before fermentation in stainless steel to retain varietal purity. A small portion was naturally fermented as whole bunches and matured for around three months in old oak puncheons, adding structure and complexity. The finished wine has 13% alcohol and 7.5 g/l residual sugar, with aromas of lychee, orange blossom, rose oil, cinnamon, potpourri and ginger. The palate is subtly sweet, finely focused and lifted by fresh acidity, with a long, thirst-quenching finish.
