Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml | $4.99 Delivery
Waipara Hills Pinot Noir is a bright, easy-going North Canterbury Pinot with plenty of juicy red berry and cherry fruit, backed by savoury spice, earthy notes and a touch of cocoa. Grown in Waipara Valley, it has a medium-bodied feel with fresh acidity and supple tannins keeping everything lively rather than heavy. Waipara Hills has been making South Island wines since 2001, with a style focused on letting regional fruit character do the talking. A very handy Pinot for weeknight dinners, roast duck, lamb or mushroom dishes, especially when you want flavour without too much fuss.
What the winery says:
The 2022 Pinot Noir comes from free-draining Waipara gravels and is described as bright and textural, with brambly red fruit, dark chocolate and rich earthy characters. Supple tannins give the palate shape while keeping the wine approachable and easy to enjoy.
What the experts say:
Cam Douglas MS, Premium - 91/100 (2021 Vintage)
"Vibrant ruby red hues and pink rim with equally vibrant bouquet of dark cherries and plums, some black currant, mild toasty wood notes, some fruit spice then violet floral tones. Fine tannin textures and a core of red berry fruit flavours are painted on the palate evenly carried along by a crisp youthful acid line. Balanced, youthful, fresh and new with best drinking from 2023 through 2026+."
