Thorn-Clarke Sandpiper Shiraz brings the generous character of Barossa Shiraz without becoming heavy or overdone. Ripe blackberry, black cherry and satsuma plum lead the way, joined by warming spice, subtle oak and soft, rounded tannins. The palate is plush and full-bodied, yet balanced enough to keep another glass looking like a very sensible idea. Made by one of the Barossa’s established family-owned producers, this is an easy match for barbecued lamb, beef burgers or slow-cooked ribs.
