Rhone Valley Wine

The Rhone Valley runs along the Rhone river in southeastern France and splits into two distinct halves, each with its own character. The steep northern slopes are built almost entirely around Syrah, producing structured, peppery reds with real ageing potential, while the warmer south favours blends built around Grenache, often alongside Syrah and Mourvedre, for softer, more generous wines. Cotes du Rhone remains the region's best-known appellation and a reliable entry point into the style, covering both ends of the valley under one designation.
