Swift Gamay 2024

Swift Gamay Noir is a juicy, energetic Hawke's Bay red designed to be enjoyed lightly chilled. Grown in Maraekakaho and made with minimal intervention, it favours bright fruit, freshness and personality over weight or heavy oak. Crunchy red berries and plum are lifted by lively acidity, subtle spice and Gamay's distinctive hint of bubble gum, creating a vibrant wine that is easy to enjoy but far from ordinary. It is particularly good with cheese, charcuterie, tuna ceviche, roast chicken or Mexican food, and makes a refreshing alternative to fuller-bodied reds through the warmer months.

Dusty ruby red in colour, the wine opens with aromas of bubble gum, red plum and a touch of spicy complexity. The palate is packed with crunchy red fruit and supported by a lively acid backbone that carries the flavour through the finish. The Gamay Noir was grown in Maraekakaho, Hawke's Bay, and made with as little intervention as possible, with the winemaking adapted to the character of the harvested fruit rather than following a fixed recipe. It contains 12.5% alcohol and can be served chilled or straight from the bottle.
