Deutz Prestige Cuvee 2020
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Deutz Prestige Cuvee is the flagship of the range, built from a blend of mostly Chardonnay with Pinot Noir and disgorged after three years on its yeast lees. Pale straw in the glass with a fine, persistent mousse, it opens with toasty almond and brioche aromas layered with spiced apple strudel, red currant and citrus. The palate is generous - ripe citrus and nectarine balanced by toasted nuts and rich pastry - with a texture that's creamy, rich and mouth-filling rather than light. The structure holds elegant and layered right through a long finish. It's built for richer food: canapés and smoked fish to start, duck or venison at the table, and a wedge of vintage cheddar or parmigiana reggiano to close.
What the winery says:
The wine is pale straw colour with a fine, persistent mousse. Toasty, almond and brioche aromas are exhibited on the nose, with underlying notes of spiced apple strudel, red currant and citrus. On the palate, generous flavours of ripe citrus and nectarine are balanced by secondary yeast autolysis characters of toasted nuts and rich pastry, with a creamy, rich, mouth-filling texture and elegant, layered structure.
