Windrush Rose 2024
Case Buys Only | 12 x 750ml
Windrush Organic Pinot Noir Rosé is a vibrant, dry Marlborough rosé with fragrant aromatics, generous summer fruit and a softly rounded texture. Made entirely from Pinot Noir grown near Renwick, it balances ripe flavour with refreshing acidity and a subtle creaminess from brief lees contact. Peach and floral notes lead into strawberry, watermelon and pomegranate, giving it enough character to enjoy beyond the usual warm-weather occasion. Serve well chilled with seafood, fresh salads, charcuterie or lighter barbecue dishes, or simply open a bottle when something bright, polished and easy-going is called for.
What the winery says:
Lifted aromas of peach, elderflower and cherry blossom introduce a palate of strawberry, watermelon, lemon peel and pomegranate. The wine is dry, aromatic and gently creamy in texture. The Pinot Noir comes from Windrush's Westview vineyard on Conders Bend Road, just north of Renwick, where Wairau River influences have left rich silt and large, smooth river stones through the well-draining soils. Clones 115, 5 and 10/5 were machine harvested, with the free-run juice immediately separated from the destemmed fruit. The wine was fermented in a tall stainless steel tank using a selected rosé yeast, then given brief contact with light lees before bottling.
What the experts say:
Cameron Douglas MS, 91/100 (2024 Vintage)
"There’s a fine seam of lees adding texture and complexity to the mouthfeel. A satin touch at first then contrasting acid line and floral ideas."
