Two Paddocks Picnic Pinot Noir is a generous, easygoing Central Otago Pinot with more shape than the name might suggest. Black Doris plum, red and black cherry, violet and wild herb notes meet a subtle stony edge, while the palate is full-bodied, warm and richly textured, with lovely balance and poise. Fruit from Alexandra, Gibbston and Bannockburn gives this regional blend a broad view of Central Otago. Made as Two Paddocks' approachable everyday Pinot, it is a natural choice for roast duck, lamb cutlets or a mushroom tart.
What the winery says:
The fruit was hand harvested between 31 March and 17 April 2025, with 98% destemmed before a nine-day cold maceration. Indigenous fermentation was followed by a further nine days on skins, then the wine matured for 10 months in one to four-year-old French medium-toast barriques, with just 2% new oak. Bottled at 13% alcohol, it can be enjoyed now or cellared through 2030.
