Tony Bish Zen Hawkes Bay Chardonnay 2024
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Tony Bish Zen Hawkes Bay Chardonnay is Tony Bish at full flight. Sitting at the very top of his Chardonnay collection, Zen is rich, layered and seriously impressive, combining generous fruit and creamy texture with the freshness and precision needed to keep everything beautifully in balance. Expect ripe citrus, orchard fruit, almond, brioche and fine spice, carried through an exceptionally long, silky finish.
What the winery says:
Zen is a single-vineyard Chardonnay grown at Kokako Farms in Hawke’s Bay’s Ohiti sub-region. The Clone 15 fruit was hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed, with only the free-run juice used. It was then naturally fermented in French oak vessels before undergoing spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Quince, nashi pear and baked orange sit alongside cinnamon, vanilla, honeysuckle and toasted brioche, while the palate delivers almond, marzipan and ripe grapefruit with a fine chalky grip and a silky, mouth-filling texture.
