Pyramid Valley North Canterbury Pinot Noir 2020
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Pyramid Valley North Canterbury Pinot Noir brings together the darker fruit and savoury detail that make this part of the country such compelling Pinot territory. Plum, blueberry and cherry are layered with wildflowers, dried herbs and spice, supported by fine tannins and a long, earthy finish. The fruit is drawn from four vineyards across the Omihi Saddle and Waipara, combining clay-rich slopes with gravelly valley sites. Plush and concentrated without losing its sense of freshness, this is a properly expressive Pinot from one of North Canterbury’s most distinctive biodynamic estates.
What the winery says:
Deep crimson in colour, with a brooding nose of plum and blue fruits lifted by floral and spicy notes. The palate is full-bodied and richly fruited, with a mouth-filling texture, rounded tannins and a lingering savoury finish. The grapes are hand-picked from four North Canterbury vineyards, naturally fermented in open-top vessels with a portion of whole bunches, then matured in French oak before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
