Escarpment Sauvignon Blanc 2025
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Escarpment Sauvignon Blanc is only the second release under the Escarpment label, drawn from what the winery calls an outstanding 2025 vintage. It leaps from the glass with spring flowers, citrus peel and guava, with classic gooseberry running through hints of tropical fruit and freshly cut grass. On the palate, fine textural elements weave through restrained yet intense fruit weight, giving real balance and poise, while a lively seam of natural acidity drives the length and subtle phenolics add another layer of texture. Sourced from the alluvial gravels of the Martinborough terrace, it's built around precision and minerality rather than sheer volume of fruit - a Sauvignon with genuine energy and elegance, and a racy mineral backbone running underneath it all.
What the winery says:
This Sauvignon Blanc was fermented across a range of vessels, including stainless steel tanks and French oak puncheons, with ten percent of the blend matured in new oak. A small portion was fermented on skins to add depth and texture, using a combination of indigenous and selected yeast strains, before the wine was aged on lees for five months prior to bottling.

"An excellent bouquet and palate, a striking initial drive of fruit and soft ripe nettles and some herb, cape gooseberry and a leesy fruit spice combination. Crisp, taut and dry, an unmistakable textured expression with layers of lees and acidity, perhaps some neutral barrel complexities wrapped in flavours of fruit and a mineral complexity. Balanced, well made and persistent. Best drinking from mid to late 2026 through 2031+."
