Invivo X SJP Pinot Noir 2024
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
Invivo X SJP Pinot Noir comes from the Sarah Jessica Parker collaboration's Marlborough vineyards, drawing on the famed clays of the Southern Valleys with a touch of drama from the Awatere River. Hand-harvested and de-stemmed into small open fermenters, the fruit was cold-soaked for a week or more, hand-plunged and left on skins for up to three weeks before eleven months in French oak barriques, over a third of them new. The result is deep ruby red with aromas of black cherries, subtle coffee creme, redcurrants and dark plums, leading to an intense, mouth-filling palate of sweet plums and toasty notes. Fine tannins and lively acidity keep it fresh, and it drinks beautifully now with real potential to age.
What the winery says:
Invivo describes the 2024 X SJP Pinot Noir as a stunning expression of Marlborough, crafted through the annual blending collaboration between Sarah Jessica Parker and Invivo co-founders Tim Lightbourne and Rob Cameron. Fruit is drawn from the Wairau Southern Valley, a steep, north-facing block of silt loam over clay, and the Awatere Valley, close to the coast with fine loam and modest gravel in a cool climate. Hand-harvested at 23.5 brix on 10 April 2024, the wine was cold-soaked, hand-plunged and left on skins for up to three weeks, then aged eleven months in new and seasoned French oak barriques, finishing at 13 per cent alcohol.
