Durvillea Marlborough Chardonnay 2024

Durvillea Marlborough Chardonnay is a generous, full-bodied Chardonnay with ripe fruit, creamy texture and a confident layer of oak. Nectarine, honeydew melon and citrus are joined by hazelnut meal, crème caramel and sweet vanilla spice, creating a round, mouth-filling palate with a long, ripe citrus finish. Made by the Astrolabe team from Marlborough fruit, it offers plenty of richness while retaining enough freshness to keep each glass moving. This is a satisfying option for drinkers who enjoy a bolder style of Chardonnay, particularly alongside roast chicken, creamy pasta, smoked salmon or miso-glazed eggplant.

The 2024 release is pale straw in colour and described as a full-bodied, creamy and oaky Chardonnay made in a round, mouth-filling style. Complex citrus fruit, hazelnut meal, crème caramel and sweet oak vanillin lead into nectarine, honeydew melon and fine oak on the palate, followed by a long, ripe citrus finish. The winery recommends serving it lightly chilled with roasted hazelnuts, creamy pasta, poultry, smoked salmon or miso-glazed eggplant with toasted sesame seeds. The wine is vegan and certified under Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand.
