d'Arenberg The Stump Jump Shiraz 2021
Case Buys Only | 6 x 750ml
d'Arenberg The Stump Jump Shiraz is ripe, generous McLaren Vale Shiraz made for uncomplicated enjoyment. Raspberry, blackberry, mulberry and cherry meet plum, blackcurrant and peppery spice, with fresh acidity and supple tannins keeping the rich fruit lively through a silky finish. Much of the fruit comes from old bush vines, bringing considerably more character than the everyday price might suggest. The name comes from the ingenious Stump Jump plough, while the label doubles as an eye test - apparently, if you can still read it at arm’s length, you are cleared for another glass.
What the winery says:
The fruit is sourced mainly from very old McLaren Vale bush vines, then gently crushed and traditionally fermented in open tanks before basket pressing and maturation in oak. Raspberry, strawberry, mulberry and spice lead into a juicy, silky palate filled with blackberry, cherry and wild strawberry. Fresh acidity and soft, supple tannins provide balance, carrying the wine through a smooth and fruit-filled finish.
