Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc carries a lineage stretching back to 1991, when the family's first vintage took home the Trophy at the New Zealand Wine Awards. Grown across the Cravens, Home Block, Hillocks and Rapaura vineyards, this release is intensely aromatic, with lifted tropical fruit and citrus on the nose leading into a refined, finely textured palate of guava and stone fruit. Marlborough's warm days and cool nights give the wine its natural balance - concentrated fruit character held in check by bright, mouth-watering acidity. Wonderfully expressive and dry through the finish, it's the kind of Sauvignon Blanc that explains the region's reputation - equally good on its own or alongside fresh seafood.

What the winery says:
Our Sauvignon Blanc has upheld a reputation for excellence since that first 1991 vintage. The grapes are sourced from our family vineyards across Marlborough, hand-picked in the cool hours of the morning, gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. After blending, the wine rests on light lees to build texture before bottling on the Wairau River estate.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, 94/100 Points (2025 Vintage)
"Intensely aromatic and inviting, the bouquet shows passionfruit, feijoa, Gala apple, and kaffir lime characters with a hint of musky complexity. The palate is equally satisfying, displaying excellent weight and lively mouthfeel. Wonderfully composed and expressed with a long, delicious finish. At its best: now to 2028."
